A Brief History

Ryan and I were married June 13th, 1993.  We worked together at Robthom Farm, in Springfield, MO, from 1992 until December 1999, when we moved, along with our cows, to Lakehurst Farm, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  At that time, we stopped using the Robthom prefix and began registering calves with Angelo as the prefix.  In September of 2000, we dispersed our herd and moved back to Missouri. We kept 4 cows, 7 of our youngest calves and had several ET pregnancies. At the time of our sale we had built up a nice herd of cows and had a 111.8% BAA, putting us at 15 ^th top BAA herd in the nation.   

We purchased our farm in Fair Grove, Missouri, June of 2001.  After a lot of hard work on our facilities, we started milking in October 2002.  Our herd was made up of the cows and calves we brought back from Wisconsin, several ET calves, plus 16 cows and 11 heifers from my parents herd. 

In August 2008 we sold 39 head of milk cows & bred heifers to Milky-Way Dairy for a $4200 average.  We kept 4 milk cows, 2 bred heifers & 9 open heifers.  We will be doing a lot of flushing & hope to sell many embryos.

Herd Statistics

The herd now consists of 4 milk cows, 2 bred heifers & 9 open heifers.

We have 7 female descendants tracing back to Robthom Bess Segis VG-87, the foundation cow of the Robthom Herd.  Of those, 4 are direct descendants of Robthom Ivory Mark EX-94.  One is a great grand daughter of Robthom Imari Raider EX-93, 3E (18 generations away from Robthom Bess Segis), and 2 are descendants of Robthom Zima Integrity  EX-93, 2E.

There are 5 female descendants from Elginvue Regal Arlene-Red EX-90.  Arlene was 65 inches tall and the only red Holstein in history to be All-American and All-Canadian, the same year, in black & white competition. 

We purchased Hanoverhill Integri Lulu-ET VG-88 in the Ontario Club Sale in 199?, as a calf.  She was a grand daughter of Tora Triple Threat Lulu EX-96.  We bought her because she was an Integrity & we had always wanted to buy a Lulu. We loved the Integrity's in my parents Robthom herd & at the time we were pretty much breeding everything to him.   Hanoverhill Integri Lulu-ET has been a great brood cow.  We have 1 heifer in our herd today that traces back to her.

Garnet Starbuck Toni  EX-94, 3E was purchased as a 3-Year-Old in 1994 at the Garnet dispersal from Gary & Janet Morrison in Osakis, MN. She has a Red Marker daughter in the herd.

We have bred 18 Excellents, and developed an additional 20 Excellent cows.  We have had 4 cow produce over 200,000 pounds in a lifetime.  Five cows have produced over 40,000 pounds in 365 days.
